Meet the world's first fidget spinner phone

Hong Kong-based mobile technology company Chilli International Holding (HK) has launched what is touted as the world's first fidget spinner feature phone 'K188' in India.

Priced between Rs 1,200-Rs 1,300, the spinner mobile 'K188' is a compact gadget which also works as a Bluetooth device for smartphones.

Powered by a 280mAh battery, the phone comes with an expandable memory up to 8GB and offers multimedia options like images, video and music support along with Internet.

The company also launched the 'F05' feature phone which comes with A-GPS technology and is priced between Rs 1500 to Rs 1700.

"Our focus for the quarter in on strengthening our brand at the Indian soil and with 'K188' and 'F05', we aim to deliver the industry's most value-for-price products," said Michael Feng, India Sales Head, Chilli International Holding (HK), in a statement.

With a 6.1cm LCD display, 'F05' features a 1.3MP camera and dual-sim support. Both the phones will be available both online and offline by the end of September.

LG K7i With 'Mosquito Away' Technology Launched in India

LG on Wednesday launched a new K-Series smartphone in India, as it had announced earlier this week. While the LG K3 (2017) and LG K4 (2017) were expected to launch, the company has launched a brand new phone instead - the LG K7i. The biggest highlight of the smartphone is its 'Mosquito Away' technology. The LG K7i comes with an additional rear cover bundled in the box that can be placed on the phone when required - it features a speaker that produces ultrasonic frequencies said to drive mosquitoes away. The smartphone is otherwise a budget offering, and runs Android Marshmallow. The LG K7i was launched at the side-lines of Day 1 of the India Mobile Congress, being held in New Delhi.

The LG K7i price in India is Rs. 7,990, and the smartphone will be available across retail outlets in the country. The company has not detailed any launch offers for the smartphone, which will be made available in its Brown colour variant in India. Commenting on the launch, Amit Gujral, Chief Marketing Officer, LG Electronics India, said "LG has always been at the forefront of unique innovations. With this launch, LG is bringing the mosquito away technology closer to the consumers in the form of a mobile device which can be an integral part of their daily lives."

LG K7i specifications, features

As we mentioned, the highlight feature of the LG K7i is its Mosquito Away technology, which uses 30KHz ultrasonic sound waves - said to be harmless to humans - to drive away mosquitoes. The company adds the smartphone has no "harmful chemicals", and neither were any used in developing it. The technology, which is enabled by the speaker on the additional rear cover, does not require any refills, LG adds. The smartphone can be placed on a stand when the mosquito repellent is activated, as seen below.
As for the LG K7i specifications, the dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a 5-inch OnCell display, and is powered by an unspecified quad core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The LG K7i has an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card. It features 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB, FM radio, and 3.5mm audio jack as connectivity options. There are many different ways to achieve this level of sharpness. Following given reasons are probably why you aren’t able to achieve good-quality, sharp pictures:-

Shutter speed too low:-

In order to achieve sharp pictures, it is important that the shutter speed is high or at least one second divided by the focal length of the lens. For example, if you are shooting with a 50mm lens, you need a shutter speed of at least 1/50th of a second. Avoid the blurry mess by freezing the motion in the highest shutter speed possible.

Camera is too shaky:-

Users can achieve better results by simply putting their cameras on some form of support. In times like these, a monopod that takes some weight off one’s arms can really come in handy. It is light and extremely mobile, giving users enough freedom to capture event moving objects.

You’re not steady enough:-

The biggest source of vibration and movement that can disrupt the sharpness of a particular image is your body. Even breathing that causes the tiniest of movements can cause vibration and spoil the outcome. Try to breathe slowly, and press the shutter button between breathes when you’re relatively still.

Camera-triggered mirror-lock up:-

Another source of vibration in cameras is the mirror in front of the sensor. When users press the shutter button, the mirror flicks up out of the way thereby causing the camera to move. However, this issue only occurs in cameras that lack dampened mirror movement.

The subject is in movement:-

Shooting a moving object can get slightly more complicated, regardless of how steady the camera is. This is where a high shutter speed plays an important role. A shutter speed of 1/60sec or 1/125sec is usually fast enough to freeze a walking person. You will require a higher shutter speed for faster moving objects.

Focus point on the wrong subject:-

It is crucial to strike the right balance between the focus point, exposure and white balance. While, a modern-day camera does the task for you, it can get slightly tedious when you’re in the manual mode. Select the correct mode, either Single point AF or Select AF, in order calibrate focus on the right subject.

Mediatek MT6739 chipset launched at India Mobile Congress

MediaTek Inc introduced its MT6739 chipset today at India Mobile Congress 2017. The quad-core System on Chip (SoC) chipset can manage WorldMode LTE Category 4 modem, dual camera photography and 18:9 display support. It also brings latest the 4G LTE functions.
MT6739 is a 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor, which operates of a maximum clock speed of 1.5GHz. The chipset supports dual VoLTE and Dual-SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) with either 4G+4G (L+L) or 4G+3G (L+W). New connectivity  technologies on the MT6739 chipset including eMBMS, HPUE and 600MHz LTE frequency are all supported.
“Consumers expect smartphones to do more than ever before. That’s why we designed the smartphone chipsets with features to let you share, do and capture more and at the same time plug in less,” said Dr. Finbarr Moynihan, General Manager of International Corporate Sales, MediaTek.
In addition to MT6739, MediaTek is also introducing its Helio P23 chipset to India. The recently launched Helio P23 offers dual-camera photography, dual-SIM and dual 4G VoLTE capabilities. Helio P23 is built on eight ARM Cortex-A53 design operating up to 2.3 GHz for high performance.
MT6739 and Helio P23-enabled devices will be available in India and the global market by end of this year. “Our latest offering in India allows OEMs and ODMs to create 4G-entry smartphones that deliver premium features that provide high-end value at affordable prices.”, Moynihan added.

Xiaomi is all set to unveil new smartphones in the Redmi series on December 7 and among the upcoming devices is the Redmi 5 Plus. However, just a few days before its official announcement, complete details viz. press shots, specs, and pricing of the Redmi 5 Plus have been leaked online.

The exhaustive details have been leaked by SlashLeaks, and they confirm that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus will feature an 18:9 display with rounded bezels and the signature metallic design of the Redmi series.

Redmi Note 5 Expected specs (99.99%):-

It has a 5.99-inch FullHD+ panel with rounded corners, the aspect ratio of 18:9 and digital button on the screen, which leads us to think that, although there are no images of the back, it will be there where we find the fingerprint reader.
The device will have a body made of metal. On the right side, we will have the button to lock and turn off the device, while on the left side there will be the volume keys. Under the hood, we have MIUI 9 running on Android 7.1.2 Nougat (something that is revealed in the image itself).
As components, it seems that we will find a Snapdragon 825 64-bit and eight/ten cores processor, which will be accompanied by the 128/64 GB of internal storage and 5000/6000 mAh battery (which will not be removable). We still do not know RAM, although we do know that the rear camera will have a 18-megapixel sensor and a 12-megapixel front.

Bharti Airtel to Launch Its Affordable 4G VoLTE Smartphone in the First Week of October: Report:-

Earlier this month, it was reported that India’s leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel is looking to launch an affordable 4G VoLTE smartphone around Diwali this year. And a new report now says that Airtel will launch the device in the first week of October, in-line with earlier rumours.

As per a report from 91mobiles, Bharti Airtel will launch the device in the first week of October before Diwali itself. It is now said that the device will be priced below Rs. 2000, contrary to the earlier price tag of Rs. 2,500.

Airtel is considering this move to counterattack Reliance Jio and its affordable & smartest feature phone JioPhone. While Jio launched a feature phone aiming to attract the current feature phone users, Airtel is considering a different approach and will launch a smartphone itself. This could be a good move, but again, it entirely depends on the smartphone’s price tag.

So, Airtel’s approach is different here. The operator is partnering with a smartphone manufacturer for the affordable 4G VoLTE smartphone, and Airtel’s part would be to co-brand the smartphone and offer attractive bundled tariff plans. One of the primary highlights of the JioPhone is its Rs. 153 tariff plan and Airtel will be looking to launch a similar tariff plan, whose details are unknown at the moment.

Furthermore, we recently reported the specifications of the smartphone. The so-called Airtel 4G VoLTE smartphone will flaunt a 4-inch FWVGA display, and will be powered by a quad-core processor. The device will sport 1GB of RAM and may have 8GB of internal storage. There might be a microSD slot for storage expansion.

Our sources earlier confirmed that the device will run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and comes with dual camera support (front and back). Of course, it will be a dual-SIM supported smartphone, which also has 4G LTE and VoLTE calling support. This entire package will be backed by a 1400-1600mAh battery. The smartphone will come preloaded with FM Radio application.

Xiaomi’s Upcoming Dual Camera Smartphone (Mi A1?) Will Be Flipkart Exclusive
Earlier this week, Xiaomi confirmed to launch a new flagship smartphone in India with the dual-lens camera. While the company hasn’t revealed any details regarding the device, it has now confirmed that this upcoming smartphone will be exclusive to Flipkart. However, it will be also sold via Mi.com and Mi Home retail outlets. We expect this new device to be the rumored Mi A1 Android One smartphone that comes with stock Android UI instead of MIUI.
Earlier to this, a few Indian smartphone manufacturers including Lava, Micromax, and Spice have launched their own Android One smartphones in India. The Mi A1 is expected to be the same Mi 5X that was launched in China but with stock Android UI. It will be even more interesting if the Mi A1 comes with the recently released Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Earlier: Aug 28th, 2017 – Today, Xiaomi has officially confirmed to unveil a new flagship dual camera smartphone on September 5th. Since the tweet particularly mentioned it as a global launch, we don’t expect the company to launch the upcoming Mi Note 3 or the Mi MIX 2 smartphones. Instead, Xiaomi might launch the rumored Mi A1 Android One smartphone that was earlier leaked through its global website. The Mi A1 will be the company’s first ever Android One smartphone. The Mi A1 shares the same model number (MDG2) as the Mi 5X launched exclusively in China.
Interestingly, the Mi 5X also sports the dual camera setup on the rear. It comes powered by the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, while the Mi 6 flagship smartphone launched in the first half came with Snapdragon 835 processor. We expect the Mi A1 Android One smartphone to come with the same specifications as on the Mi 5X. Instead of the in-house MIUI, the Mi A1 will be running on the stock Android out of the box.

Earlier: August 18th, 2017 – Xiaomi currently sells the high-end smartphones under the Mi series and the affordable smartphones through the Redmi series. Now, the company might announce a new smartphone called Mi A1 under the Mi series. The Mi A1 smartphone with the model number MDG2 is listed on the RF exposure page on the Xiaomi’s official website. The MDG2 was earlier spotted on benchmarking websites. It was then reported to be the Mi 5X and interestingly, the Mi 5X is also missing on this list. The MDG2 smartphone also received the FCC certification in July this year.
As of now, there is no other information about the Mi A1 smartphone. Recently, Xiaomi has announced to launch a new smartphone with dual rear cameras in India. While the company skipped launching the flagship Mi 6 smartphone in India, the Mi 5X is the only other newly launched device to feature dual camera setup. The company is yet to reveal the name of its upcoming dual camera smartphone in India and my wild guess is that, the company will launch the Mi 5X as Mi A1 in India with few changes.
The Mi 5X sports metal built unibody design and is currently available for just 1299 Yuan (approx Rs. 12,500) in China. Talking about the specifications, it sports a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at up to 2GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The device comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It runs on the latest MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device.
It features a 12MP dual-lens camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Since there is no home button, the device comes with capacitive navigation buttons. Unlike the Mi 6, the Mi 5X offers MicroSD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It is backed by a 3,080mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charging with the5V/2A (10W) power adapter. It measures 155.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm and weighs 165 grams.

#1 Charge Your Smartphone with Original Charger:-
It will be best if you charge your phone with its own charger. Very often due to our busy schedule, we forgot to carry the original charger and replace it with a duplicate one. This is what affects battery performance. If you are using a replacement charger then, check its output voltage (V) and current (Ampere).
#2 Remove protective case while charging:-
You might have noticed, while our phone is on the charge, it becomes slightly warm. So, make sure to remove the phone’s protective case while charging. This can act as a barrier and slow down heat dissipation. If possible, try to flip the phone over while charging
#3Avoid third party battery apps:-
You might have already installed a battery or power management app on your smartphone. There are many applications available in Google Play Store that claims to increase the battery life of Android. However, these apps will not do any good to your battery because it increases the load on the smartphone and forces the device to use more battery power.
#4 Always Charge Up To 80%:-
We must admit that 80% charge is enough for a day, and it’s ideal for overall battery lifespan. Crossing the 80% mark can make your battery to overheat, thereby affecting battery’s life. So, it’s not necessary that your smartphone should always be topped up to a maximum.
#5 Avoid Constant recharge:-
We always tend to charge our smartphone when it reaches the 50% battery mark. However, that’s not the best thing to do. Users must allow the battery to discharge to around 20% before they plug it in. Studies have claimed that unnecessary and frequent recharges shorten the lifespan of the battery.

There a few more things more annoying than having your phone battery die on you half way through the day.
If you can't access a charger you are left to wonder around in a daze, uncontactable and oblivious to what is going on elsewhere in the world.
No matter the device you use, trying to maintain your battery for an entire day has become a Herculean task, thanks mostly to the array of apps and data we plow through.
It needn't be that hard though as there a numerous tips and tricks you can implement in order to preserve battery life.
Don't charge the battery overnight:-
This might not sound too logical but charging your battery throughout the night is not healthy for the phone.
It is believed that this method can play the battery in a state of stress - microcharging that final per cent between 99 and 100 - wearing it out and shortening its overall life.
The best alternative to this is to charge your phone intermittently throughout the day rather than having it hooked up to the mains until dawn. Easy if you work in an office, not so great if you're always out and about.
Turn off unnecessary apps:-
If you're like most people you'll have dozens of apps that you'll use throughout the day.
While not every app will drain a considerable amount of your battery, others will.
Facebook is a particularly bad offender on this issue, but all iOS and Android phones now have battery monitors which detail how much power each app is using.
From there you can determine which apps you should close or uninstall altogether.
Dim screen brightness:-
Part of the appeal of a smartphone is being able to use its big and colourful screen to it's full capability.
Screen brightness is a guaranteed killer of batteries though, so it is advisable to switch to the auto-brightness feature.
This will then adjust the phones brightness depending on your environment at the time and preserving its life for longer.
Turn off vibrations:;
If you don't like to announce your presence to the world with a ring tone or notification noise then vibrations are the next best option.
The truth is though that vibrations actually require more power than ringtones, which actually makes sense as the phone is physically moving rather than merely making a noise.
Of course vibrations are important for quieter situations such as meetings, so if you do still need to use them make sure you at least reduce their intensity.
Shorten screen timeout:-
Not all phones have the ability to automatically lock themselves, so the timeout period becomes quite important.
This feature determines how long the phone remains lit after you've stopped using it.
The amount of time is easily adjusted in the phone's settings, so keeping it to the shortest possibly time is essential for battery longevity.
Turn off Bluetooth:-
It's rare that many people actually think about Bluetooth but it is another serious drain on the battery.
Obviously some people use it for their accessories (headphones, smart watches etc.) but not everyone needs it turned on.
If you're not using it, knock it off.
Turn off GPS and other location services
You may have noticed the little messages that constantly pop up on your phone asking if you would like a certain app to track your location.
Nearly every app does it, and while it is useful for some it is pointless for others and will drain the battery with little benefit.
You can choose how often the GPS is used in your settings and selecting which actually need it.
Don't have notifications for everything:-
We all need to know when someone is phoning us or when we receive a new message.
However, you don't need notifications for every app on your phone - all of these naturally consume energy, so eliminate those unnecessary notifications as soon as possible.
Push email:-
Constantly being informed of new emails is very handy, especially if it is key to your job.
Yet, requiring your phone to continuously check for new mail is power draining.
To change this you can ask you can set you phone to check every 30 minutes, or even manually check them yourself.
Keep the phone cool:-
If you've ever touched your phone and noticed that it is hotter than usual, it is probably because it is using too much battery power processing something.
This sometimes happens when the phone is one charge or if you are using an app that requires a great deal of memory - so let it rest and recharge properly.
This can also happen when the device is left in direct sunlight or any hot environment, such as a parked car on a summers day.
Phones will always operate in cooler locations, so try to be mindful of that if the phone is going to be exposed to heat.
Invest in a power bank or phone with a bigger battery:-
If you can't see yourself remembering to apply any of these tips you could always spend a little more money and acquire a portable battery bank for yourself.
They can be purchased relatively cheaply nowadays and although they mean that you'll have to carry one more item, you won't need to keep plugging into the mains for the entire day.
